The Brains Behind Pa have released a single of “Tangerine Guillotine” on 7″ orange vinyl. “Tangerine Guillotine” is taken from the album, Beggars Belief, but the B-side, which is an alternate mix of the A-side, is unique to this release and is unavailable elsewhere. The B-side, “Tangerine Guillotine (Jarotang Mix),” is the result of a happy accident. Bill Price explains…
“We had some video footage of the band laying down the basic tracks to “Tangerine Guillotine.” The audio from the camera was terribly distorted, but it was actually really cool and grungy. So we used that distorted audio as the basis of the B-side. And because it was the exact same take as the regular, album version, we were able to fly in some parts from the master take. But we also added a lot of new parts and created an entirely new mix. It’s very different from the original and pretty crazy. But it was a real blast working on that with Tyler.”
The 45 vinyl single has an inner sleeve with a photo and lyrics and is pressed on orange vinyl. It’s available here.
