Advertising Refugees

Jerry Mannell is the artist who created the cover painting for the The Circus & The Gallows CD jacket. Nina Anthony is one of several photographers whose photos are used in the I Can’t Stop Looking at the Sky album project packaging. Several of Nina’s shots are used—the most predominant one being the shot on the outside cover of the CD 1 jacket. Both Nina and Jerry worked with Bill Price circa 1985 – 1986 at Handley & Miller Advertising—a long-defunct advertising agency in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Starr Art

The illustrations done for the Old Hat album cover, the "The Brains Behind Pa Benton House" poster, The Brains Behind Pa "top hat" logo as well as the With the Eye of a Skeptic... album (eye, sun and moon used in the album art, t-shirts and CD release show poster) were all done by illustrator, Jim Starr.

With the Eye of a Skeptic... cover photograph

The photograph on the cover of the With the Eye of a Skeptic... CD was taken by photographer Chris Day. The gargoyle/monk in the photograph is one of two on either side, high above the main door to an Indianapolis Public Library near the intersection of East Washington and Rural Streets. It is one of the few remaining Carnegie libraries in Indianapolis.

First place Flathead

The photograph that appears on the black and white poster included in the I Can’t Stop Looking at the Sky project was taken by photographer Seth GaleWyrick. The lake in the photo is Flathead Lake in northwestern Montana. It is the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi in the lower 48 states.
