New Album Project on the Horizon
Last month (June 2011) Bill Price sat down with Engineer/Producer Michael Graham and began the process of reviewing songs for the next album project. 25 - 30 original songs are being considered. The project is in it's infant stages, but the general approach will be to use most, if not all of the personnel who appeared on the last album (With the Eye of a Skeptic and a Few Other Likely Stories), but will not be limited that group of players.
Price explains, "I see this record expanding a bit from the last one, both musically and lyrically. It won't be limited to all acoustic instruments or lyrically to a semi-narrative approach as before. I imagine it will be a little more eclectic, but time will tell. The concept and direction is still evolving."
Earlier in the year, the same process was taking place for a new The Brains Behind Pa album, but that was set aside to pursue the current project. "As badly as I wanted to do a new 'Brains' album, because Lord knows, we're overdue for that, I could not afford to do both. With the attention and success of the 'Skeptic' album, it just seemed to make sense to pursue that direction a little further," Price says. "Hopefully, we'll get to the 'Brains' project very soon after this one."
Stay tuned for more information.
